Alloa and District Round Table’s first ever bonfire and fireworks extravaganza when off with a bang, with over 6,000 local families and friends turning out to support

this eagerly awaited fun Derek Stewart Starting The Fireworkspacked charity and fundraising evening.

The event took place in Alloa’s Westend Park, starting at 6pm with live local entertainers including a children’s entertainer, DJ Tony Duffy and local band Fever. 

In the interlude between DJ Tony and the band – the bonfire was light – with the guy, which had been professionally constructed by the pupils of Saint John’s Primary school, taking centre stage on the top of the six metre bonfire.

Provost Derek Stewart was charged with starting the main event with the countdown for the perusing firework display.

The main objective of the bonfire and firework extravaganza was to help raise money for the Round Table.  In excess of £7000.00 was raised on the evening – all this money will be used to help local families and local vulnerable individuals.   David “Although everybody had fun, the event was to raise money for local charities.
