
Alloa Town Centre today hosted the homecoming parade by the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, coinciding with Armed Forces day.
The Argyll’s have recently returned from active service in Afghanistan, assembled and left Kilncraigs at 11.30, delighting the thousands of family, friends, veterans and visitors who had assembled to show their gratitude and respects. Thousands of people lined the streets as the Argyll’s left Kilncraigs and made their way to the town hall, for a flag raising ceremony which was watched by Keith Brown MSP, Gordon Banks MP, Angela Leitch Clackmannanshire Council's Chief Executive, Provost Derek Stewart and Lord Lieutenant Rt Hon George Reid.
